Giovani Bernard is record-setter
Posted Nov 29, 2011
Redshirt freshman TB Giovani Bernard, who played less than a half against Virginia Tech after sustaining a concussion, played and rushed for a season-high 165 yards in the win over Duke. He finished the regular season with 1,222 yards, the most by a North Carolina freshman and sixth-highest total in school history. With just 29 yards in a bowl game, he would have the third-best season in school history.
