There’s an idea in sports, as well as in life, of an ultimate goal — something you build your whole life around in hopes of achieving. This is the summit for most. But to Alexa Newfield, a redshirt senior on the UNC women’s soccer team, the path of her playing career has no end game. No pinnacle. The idea she could lose everything she worked for is exactly what kept her moving forward.
