Worried that she couldn’t afford college for her son, Shirley Barnes put the time and money she did have into developing Harrison Barnes’ basketball skills in hopes of earning a scholarship. He not only succeeded by landing a scholarship to play for North Carolina, but he’s also now in his fourth season with the NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
