The message from NC State coach Dave Doeren was the same as from a year earlier against North Carolina. The situation was flipped. “I kept telling them to keep playing the next play,” Doeren said. “Don’t look at the scoreboard. Last year, when we were up, I told them the same thing.” This time, a large deficit was too much to overcome in a 45-34 loss to the No. 11 Tar Heels.
