Back in Chapel Hill, my parents thrived. Dad taught Serbo-Croatian, Russian and Russian literature at UNC. Chapel Hill’s friendliness, relaxed pace and intellectual environment suited him....And in 1965 he began a love affair that would last until the day he died. He purchased his first season ticket to Carolina basketball games which in those days were played in creaky Woollen Gym.
