Roy Williams needs no validation, but third title will silence many critics

At this stage of his career, Williams is as comfortable in his own skin as ever, yet the level of criticism he receives by media and fans alike seems to exceed what would be expected for someone who has achieved so much. In the summer of 2014, ESPN ranked the top 50 coaches in college basketball. Williams was listed at No. 16. (Since then, he has a 10-10 record against the coaches who were ranked ahead of him.)
