UNC Crafting Attacking Defensive Identity

When opponents turn on UNC’s game film, defensive coordinator John Papuchis wants them to see a physical, attacking defense. There’s been an evolution of defensive schemes in the Larry Fedora era, beginning with Vic Koenning’s 4-2-5 before switching to Gene Chizik’s Cover-2, which Papuchis has molded to create havoc in the offensive backfield.
