Defense Pushes UNC Women's Basketball Past VCU, 59-47

North Carolina (3-0) used a strong defensive performance to notch a 59-47 victory over VCU on Wednesday at Carmichael Arena. Janelle Bailey scored 18 points and was a rebound shy of another double-double. Paris Kea added 15 points and four steals and Shayla Bennett had 10 points. UNC held VCU scoreless for over 10 minutes in the second half to seize control.
