Larry Miller was not just a great player but a historic one. He was Dean Smith's first major recruit at the University of North Carolina, where Miller was known as The Big Cat from Catty, and led the Tar Heels to the NCAA Championship game against UCLA in 1968. Miller was a two-time Atlantic Coast Conference player of the year (1967 and '68) and is still recognized by several college basketball publications as one of the top 10 players in ACC history, averaging 22 points a game in his three varsity seasons.
