Lady Heels Defeat #1 Duke 74-70
Posted Jan 30, 2006
Erlana Larkins had 17 of her season-high 23 points in the second half, Ivory Latta added 17 points and a steadying influence down the stretch and the third-ranked Tar Heels rallied to beat No. 2 Duke 74-70 Sunday night. Since the Blue Devils knocked off No. 1 Tennessee earlier in the week - and the Lady Vols lost again a few days later - the winner in the renewal of this Tobacco Road rivalry was all but assured of moving to the top spot when The Associated Press poll is released Monday.
