UNC reports a 31 percent COVID-19 positivity rate for last week


The University of North Carolina reported a 31.3 percent positivity rate of COVID-19 tests last week — more than double the 13.6 percent positivity rate from the first week of class. Between Aug. 17 and Aug. 23, UNC reported 1,528 total tests, with 465 positive results. UNC also reported 135 new positive cases of COVID-19 from the weekend. (Daily Tar Heel)
