North Carolina Alumnus Peter Gammons Inducted into Baseball Hall Of Fame
Posted Aug 1, 2005
University of North Carolina alumnus and veteran sportswriter and broadcaster Peter Gammons was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday. Gammons recalled a remark Ted Williams once made to him. "He said, 'Some day you're going to walk down the street and have people say you have the greatest job in America.' Well, Ted, it happens almost every day. And for that I thank all of you, everyone who read or listened to me, allowed me to find what I love and hold onto it long enough to experience this, the greatest day of my professional career."
