Remembering UNC alum, historian Julian Pleasants

When Julian Pleasants died, North Carolina lost one of its most important academic and popular historians. Pleasants grew up in Southern Pines, graduated from Davidson College, and earned master’s and doctoral degrees in history at UNC. Pleasants wrote or co-wrote 10 books. He detailed the divisive conflicts in mid-20th century North Carolina politics. (The Robesonian)
