Fiona Crawley Wins U.S. Open First-Round Qualifying Match

UNC senior Fiona Crawley advanced to the second round of the US Open qualifying tournament after defeating Reka Luca Jani of Hungary, 6-1, 6-7, 7-6 in her first round match. Crawley, the ITA National Player of the Year, scored her first Grand Slam match victory with the win. Crawley will face Timea Tabos of Hungary in the second qualifying round.
