Reopening Franklin Street store Classic Carolina, Kris Chellani carries on a family business

When Kris Chellani reopens Franklin Street’s Classic Carolina store this coming Saturday, he’ll be following in his father Dhruva Chellani’s footsteps. “My dad came to this country with $20 in his pocket,” Chellani said. Classic Carolina, as the store came to be known, found its niche selling UNC shirts, jackets, dresses and accessories, as well as novelty shirts. (The Local Reporter)
