Letter From NC Attorney General Josh Stein To NCAA Regarding Tez Walker
Posted Oct 5, 2023
Restricting Tez Walker from playing at UNC this fall raises serious antitrust concerns as an illegal restraint of trade. In essence, the NCAA has imposed a sweeping, unilateral, one-year non-compete restriction, in violation of both state and federal law. See, e.g., 15 U.S.C. § 1 (barring agreements in restraint of trade); N.C. Gen. Stat. § 75-1. (PDF file)
