UNC women whet appetite

The No. 4 ranked North Carolina women's soccer team left Fetzer Field on a rainy Friday night drenched, dirty and delighted. "I'm kind of jacked; could this have been a better opener?" coach asked captain after the Tar Heels had blanked Western Carolina 5-0 in a first-round NCAA playoff game. It was a milestone moment for Averbuch, who started a school-record 100th consecutive game. (Raleigh News & Observer)
