North Carolina heads south for the first two rounds of the NCAA women’s basketball tournament as a No. 8 seed in the Albany 1 region, facing Michigan State in Columbia, S.C., in the first round. If the Tar Heels (19-12) get past the No. 9-seed Spartans (22-8), they would play No. 1 ranked and No. 1 overall seed South Carolina (32-0) in the second round.
