Chansky’s Notebook: Homer Rice’s Legacy

Former UNC athletic director Homer Rice died at 97 this week after an honored career as a football coach and college athletic director. His statue stands outside Bobby Dodd Stadium at Georgia Tech. Rice UNC's athletic director from 1969-1975, when Bill Dooley built his juggernaut and Dean Smith won two ACC regular-season and tourney championships.
