Three Tar Heels Open Olympic Soccer Group Stage Play

The United States began group stage play at the 2024 Olympic Games with a 3-0 win over Zambia on Thursday. New Zealand suffered a 2-1 loss to defending Olympic champion Canada. Three former UNC women's soccer standouts – New Zealand's Katie Bowen and the United States' Crystal Dunn and Emily Fox – are competing for Olympic gold.
