Rinky Hijikata Wins US Open First-Round Match


Former UNC men's tennis All-America Rinky Hijikata maintained the strong momentum to his professional career Monday, winning his first-round match in the 2024 US Open in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. Hijikata dispatched Alejandro Davidovich Fokina of Spain in four sets, 7-6(1), 3-6, 6-4, 6-3. Along the way, he improved to 3-2 as a pro in four-set matches. (GoHeels.com)
