Percentage of Black, Hispanic Students in First-Year Class at UNC Drops

Data on Carolina’s incoming class this fall — the first since the Supreme Court ended race-conscious admissions in a ruling issued last June — shows a decrease in the percentage of Black and Hispanic students compared with the previous year. It still remains unclear if the court ruling or a combination of other factors may have caused the drop.
