UNC Morehead-Cain Scholar Brook Cheuvront dies during hike in South Africa, reports say


A UNC student studying abroad who vanished during a hike in South Africa has been found dead. Brook Cecilia Cheuvront, 20, of Newland, went hiking on Saturday at Devil’s Peak in Western Cape. She was found on Sunday, police say. Cheuvront, a UNC sophomore and Morehead-Cain Scholar, was on an internship at the University of Cape Town. (CBS 17)
