Sports broadcaster Greg Gumbel dies of cancer at age 78


Greg Gumbel, a veteran of CBS Sports who spent more than 50 years in sports broadcasting, has died of cancer at the age of 78. "He passed away peacefully surrounded by much love after a courageous battle with cancer," his family said. In March, Gumbel missed his first NCAA tournament since 1997 due to what he said were family health issues. (ESPN.com)
