UNC professor, emergency doctor deployed with swift-water rescue team in Hurricane Helene aftermath


Dr. Mariecely Luciano-Feijoo was driving home from work on a September afternoon when she got a call to deploy immediately in response to Hurricane Helene, a destructive storm steadily approaching the mountains of western North Carolina. Luciano volunteers to be on a rescue team that responds rapidly to emergencies across the state. (UNC.edu)
