Colorado celebrates life of Hall of Fame coach Bill McCartney with public memorial


There were Nebraska jokes. “He wasn’t too fond of Lincoln,” voice of the Buffs Mark Johnson quipped during the public memorial service for Hall of Fame coach Bill McCartney, who died Jan. 10 at 84. There were plenty of tears as family members, dozens of former players and hundreds of community members entered the CU Events Center. (Denver Gazette)
