The future is bright for North Carolina women's basketball as incoming freshman Nyla Brooks has been named the 2025 Gatorade Virginia Girls Basketball Player of the Year. A McDonald's All-American game participant and a Naismith Award Midseason Team Member, Brooks is touted as the nation's No. 20 basketball recruit in the class of 2025 by ESPN.
