Posted Jun 16, 2009
After struggling to find any offensive rhythm against Arizona State on Sunday, North Carolina's bats exploded in tying a College World Series record with 23 base hits in throttling Southern Miss, 11-4, on Tuesday to stay alive in Omaha. The hits started rolling early and often for North Carolina, led by Dustin Ackley’s RBI single in the top of the first inning. The All-American first baseman was 5-for-6 with three RBI.
