If a Midwest League team is going to get into an old-fashioned pitchers’ duel, it doesn’t hurt to have a Major League pitcher make a rehab start. Carlos Zambrano only really got into trouble in one inning, the third. Clinton’s Travis Howell lined a leadoff single into right. Two batters later, [UNC alum] Kyle Seager hit a double hard off the wall in center. Zambrano then struck out the next two batters.
