Matt Harvey Named Progress Energy Performer Of The Week

Right-handed pitcher Matt Harvey struck out 11 Michigan batters to spark a three-game Tar Heel sweep of the Wolverines and earn Progress Energey Tar Heel of the Week honors for March 1-7, 2010. Harvey, a junior from Mystic, Conn., was masterful in eight innings of work Friday, leading Carolina to a 4-2 victory. Harvey allowed no runs on three hits in eight innings of shut out ball.
