Mariners send Dustin Ackley down; he'll be back sooner rather than later
Posted Mar 17, 2010
Dustin Ackley, the second player taken in last June’s draft, won’t start the season with Seattle. The Mariners made that clear Tuesday when Ackley was optioned to the club’s Double-A West Tennessee roster. That being said, Ackley made a lot of fans when he was with the Mariners in the last three weeks, and it would surprise no one if the left-handed hitting former UNC star would make it to Triple-A and the majors both later this year.
