Chris Munnelly tossed six scoreless innings and Colin Bates pitched the final three innings for his first save of the season as No. 25 North Carolina blanked Charlotte, 5-0, in a non-conference matchup Wednesday night at Hayes Stadium. Ben Bunting, Levi Michael, Jesse Wierzbicki and Dillon Hazlett each had two hits for the Tar Heels, who will take the rest of the week off for final exams.
