Mets sign 1st-round draft pick RHP Matt Harvey

The Mets have agreed to a contract with first-round draft pick Matt Harvey that includes a $2,525,000 signing bonus. The deal was completed shortly before Monday's midnight EDT deadline. Harvey was selected No. 7 overall out of North Carolina, where the 21-year-old right-hander went 8-3 with a 3.09 ERA in 14 games this season. He struck out 102 and walked 35 in 96 innings.
