Sparked by LaToya Pringle's newfound verbosity -- not to mention her career-high 31 points and nine rebounds -- the third-ranked Tar Heels responded in resplendent fashion, downing Maryland, 97-86, in double overtime at Carmichael Auditorium. By no means was it easy for North Carolina (18-2, 5-0 ACC), facing a Maryland (22-2, 6-1) squad known for its physical post play and rebounding.
