Former Diamond Heel Russ Adams retires from baseball


Former major league infielder , who played in 286 games with the Toronto Blue Jays from 2004 through 2009, has retired. Adams, 30, was hitting .180 with one homer and five RBIs in 61 at-bats for Triple-A Buffalo. He was the 14th overall pick in the 2002 draft by Toronto out of the University of North Carolina, one slot ahead of the Mets picking Scott Kazmir. (ESPN.com)
