Coaches, teammates impressed with Mariners' Dustin Ackley
Posted Jun 29, 2011
Dustin Ackley — who played high-school baseball at South Stokes and North Forsyth before starring for the Tar Heels — got his first big-league hit in his first at-bat and his first home run in his second game. He has played in 10 games through Monday, and been an on-base machine, reaching base in all of them, including his first three-hit game Sunday to push his average to .300.
