Andrew Miller impressive in win over Royals
Posted Aug 22, 2011
It had been 19 days since Andrew Miller’s last start, nine days since his last appearance of any sort. But these past few weeks weren’t exactly a paid vacation either.Miller, forced from the rotation after the Red Sox [team stats] made a July 31 trade for left-hander Erik Bedard, had additional time to work with pitching coach Curt Young and figure out why he served up 30 hits and 17 walks in only 202/3 innings over six appearances (four starts) since the All-Star break.
