Dick Baddour looks to next chapter at UNC

Dick Baddour, who has been at UNC so long that his original job title — assistant dean of men — no longer exists, is stepping down Friday after 14 years as the director of athletics. His replacement, Bubba Cunningham, will begin on Monday. When Baddour announced his retirement in July, women’s basketball coach Sylvia Hatchell said the next monthly UNC coaches meeting was filled with tears.
