UNC's Katelyn Falgowski, a freshman from Landenberg, Pa., has been named ACC Player of the Week for field hockey. The honor is the first of her career and she is the third Tar Heel to be honored this season, joining seniors Rachel Dawson and Jesse Gey. A midfielder who has started every game this year, Falgowski scored a goal and added an assist on Saturday as No. 1 UNC beat previously-undefeated No. 2 Maryland, 3-0.
