Baltimore Oriole and former Tar Heel Brian Roberts had successful hip surgery and will now begin a four- to six-month rehab process. Though the ex-Tar Heel took a step back Saturday, Boston’s Daniel Bard is getting closer to returning to the major league team. North Carolina alum and New York Met Matt Harvey struggled in his most recent start against the Padres, but he’s learning from his mistakes.
