Allie Long Named Progress Energy Tar Heel Of The Week

Junior midfielder Allie Long led Carolina to a pair of women's soccer wins in the Nike Classic and is the Progress Energy Tar Heel of the Week for September 3-9, 2007. Long, a transfer from Penn State and native of Northport, N.Y., excelled in the Carolina Nike Classic, leading the No. 6-ranked Tar Heels to the championship with a 2-0 mark with wins over No. 3 Texas A&M 2-1 and Yale 4-0.
