No. 1 North Carolina won its 11th straight game to open the season on Tuesday with a 10-2 win over Davidson (5-6) at Boshamer Stadium. The 11-0 start is the best by a Tar Heel club since the 2000 squad won its first 21 games of the season. Senior Cody Stubbs led the Tar Heels at the plate with 3 RBIs, including a two-run home run in a five-run third inning.
