Mike Zolk Sr. remembers the kid in the Mazda commercial. “His face would pop up on the screen, and he sort of looked like Alfred E. Neuman or Alfalfa. Big ears and freckles and dark hair. He looked exactly like Zoom.” It started at a youth soccer game in Philadelphia. Young Mike Zolk was not yet ten years old, a blur on the soccer pitch, when a family friend turned to his father and began singing the jingle.
