The USA Women's Pan American Games Team (5-0) outscored host Brazil (4-1) 30-13 in the final quarter to record a 79-66 win and capture the Pan American Games gold medal Tuesday evening in Rio de Janeiro. The victory earned the United States' first gold medal in Pan American Games competition since 1987. North Carolina senior Erlana Larkins had four points, four rebounds and a steal in the gold medal game.
