Andrew Carignan makes pro debut

Right-hander Andrew Carignan became the third player this season to play his first pro game in a Kane Couty Cougars uniform, pitching the eighth inning in the Cougars' 12-6 loss to Dayton at Elfstrom Stadium. Pitching in a live game for the first time in about a month, Carignan, who turns 21 on Monday, walked two batters and allowed an unearned run.
