Shalane Flanagan’s Best Not Enough To Win Boston Marathon
Posted Apr 21, 2014
Marblehead native Shalane Flanagan desperately wanted to win the 2014 Boston Marathon. For the first 17 miles she was in position to do so, but despite running a personal best Monday, it wasn’t enough to win. Flanagan dropped to the back of the leader pack in the Newton hills and ending up finishing in seventh place with a time of 2:22:02. She was the top American woman finisher.
