UNC’s Sylvia Hatchell stared down cancer, won


“You don’t have the choice that you have cancer, but you have the choice in how you deal with it.” recounted her journey Friday morning at the 10th annual Fast break against Cancer breakfast at the Smith Center. The event, hosted by UNC men’s basketball coach , has raised almost $1.6 million for the UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Center, where Hatchell received her treatment. (Durham Herald-Sun)
