Top-ranked UNC improved to 15-1 on the season with a midweek win over Temple and a three-game sweep of No. 11 Miami to open ACC play last weekend. The Tar Heels got back on track offensively and found outstanding pitching performances from rookie right-hander Alex White and from junior closer Andrew Carignan and the rest of the bullpen, as they posted their first-ever three-game sweep of the Hurricanes.
