Shalane Flanagan heads 'very good' US women's shot at winning Boston Marathon
Posted Apr 20, 2015
The 119th Boston Marathon is shaping up as the best chance yet for an American woman to terminate a longtime hex. Boston veterans Shalane Flanagan and Desiree Linden plus newcomer Amy Cragg have the experience and pedigrees to break foreign domination on the women’s side of the race. The last American woman to win the race was Lisa Larsen-Weidenbach, who broke the tape in 2:34.06 in 1985.
