North Carolina scored four times in the fourth inning to help fuel its play-in round victory over Virginia Tech, 5-3. Tar Heels starting pitcher Zac Gallen gave up a run in the second inning, but recovered nicely, fanning seven Hokies over 6.2 innings of work. UNC advances into the pool play stage of the championship where it will first take on top-seeded Louisville.
